General Information on Bhutan:

Introduction
Beginning in the middle of October 2000, I have the opportunity to travel to the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan. I am being sent there for 6 months under a Canadian Government initiative called "NetCorps". The Non-Government Organization (NGO) that is sending me to Bhutan is the World University Services of Canada, through the United Nations Volunteers Program to work for the United Nations Development Program. I'm really glad that these groups are sending me, because it costs regular tourists US$200 per day to be in Bhutan!

Myself
I graduated in May 2000 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Computer Engineering), from the University of Victoria. I did 20 months of work experience with this degree (a full co-op program), but I don't see myself entering the regular work force any time soon. Simply, I find the Dilbert cubicle corporate life to be uninspiring. Further, I resent the corporate rat-race's "money first" attitude - it really should be "people first". So it's off to work in the Himilayas for 10 months!
